The Figure 8 fiber optic cable, available in models such as GYFTC8S, GYTC8S, GYXTC8S, and GYXTC8Y, is designed for aerial outdoor installations. It is self-supporting and offers high resistance to moisture and external mechanical stress. The cable includes a metallic strength member made of stranded steel wires, with the supporting element encased in a polyethylene (PE) sheath—forming the signature figure-8 structure.

  • Stranded steel wire construction delivers high tensile strength, enabling self-supporting installation and reducing deployment costs.

  • Excellent durability under mechanical loads and temperature variations.

  • Loose tubes made from high-strength materials resist hydrolysis and ensure long-term fiber protection.

  • A special gel inside the tubes cushions and protects the optical fibers.

  • Multiple water-blocking designs are employed for enhanced moisture resistance:

    • Central strength member made of FRP or steel wire

    • Water-resistant gel filling in the loose tubes

    • Full core filling throughout the cable

    • PSP (polyethylene-coated steel tape) layer for additional water ingress protection
